Energy Efficiency Project, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU

APARTHOTEL SENATOR S.A. has received a grant to carry out an energy efficiency improvement project at Senator Barcelona, as part of the Energy Efficiency and Circular Economy Projects Program for Tourism Companies, under the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan (C14.I4.I2), funded by the European Union—NextGenerationEU—with the support of the General Directorate of Tourism of the Department of Business and Labor of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

The project involved the renovation of the HVAC and domestic hot water (DHW) systems through the installation of a DAIKIN VRV IV variable refrigerant volume system with heat recovery, capable of providing both heating and cooling simultaneously. The project also includes new indoor units and a centralized control system to optimize the operation of the air conditioning and DHW systems.

The goal of the project is to reduce energy consumption and emissions associated with the facility’s heating systems by improving their energy efficiency.

As a result of the renovation, the energy rating for CO₂ emissions has improved from 67.4 kg CO₂/m²·year (Class C) to 44.3 kg CO₂/m²·year (Class B).
